Places that Inspire
What place inspires you the most? When the weather was nice, this became my new favorite place to work. I’d roll out the blanket and sit for hours. The atmosphere is amazing- so relaxing. The ideas flow so freely here.

It’s interesting, I’m coming across authors who separate good writing and good storytelling. I always thought those writing rules were making me a better storyteller. You can follow every rule and still write a crappy book. You can commit the most horrendous of writing sins and your book becomes a best seller. It’s kinda frustrating…
Can’t sell a story based on premise alone. Maybe it’s just me. I don’t care how good the story sounds or how well written it is, if the POV character is annoying then I’m putting it down. Forever. “There is nothing more important than character, for your protagonist is at the heart of the story” “(Creating Not Good But…
According to Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, when mapping out the history of your Fantasy world you should think about: “How far back are there records or tales of historical events? How widely known are these stories? Do average people believe old tales, or do they dismiss some that have a basis in fact (e.g.,…
Only a couple of pages to edit and I’ll be done with my first novel! Okay, technically, this is not the first novel I’ve written but, it’s my first potentially publishable novel. I’ve been working on this one for at least 7 years. Fortunately, it’s now a part of a series so I don’t have to say goodbye…
I always dream that one day I’ll have a writing space with a nice view. I can sit and read for hours. Get some good writing and designing in. Take my camera out every now and then. Don’t know how that dream will come true, though. I want a nature-y view. I also don’t want to live someplace where I have to…

One thing stood out to me, most of the authors didn’t think of writing as this difficult thing. Hearing them talk, you’d assume it was easy….

There's a clifftop on the Centennial Ridges Trail in Algonquin Park that overlooks Whitefish Lake and its surroundings. When I hike that trail, I like sitting there, knowing I'm close to the end of the trail, and just bask in the view. It's very peaceful, very calming.
It sounds peaceful. For some reason, looking at a lake or an ocean is always relaxing. Thanks for sharing!
Those are very inspiring photos. I love them.
