Creative Insults

How do you curse people out without swearing? Remember the song from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” That’s how you do it.
In my series, I wrote characters who found creative ways to insult people. Only, I had no idea what they’d say. I spent hours combing different Thesauruses and couldn’t help laughing when I thought about the characters combing those words. Just for fun, below are some words I found.
Odious

My favorite insult when I've seen something unsightly:
I want to stick pins in my eyes and pour bleach in them.
lol
Love it. That's how I want my character's insult to sound.
This just made me think of Hermione insulting Draco before she punches him. 🙂
One of my favorite parts in the series 😉
Bookmarked for future 🙂
I watched a fantasy show called Knightmare when young. One of the memorable characters was called Cedric the Mad Monk, who insulted people.
One of my favorite insults went something like: you miserable misbegotten lout. He also used animal theme insults like horse drivel, turtle brain… Always delivered in a loud gruff voice that made me jump off the sofa XD
Animal themed insults. Not a bad idea. 😉 I'll have to remember that. Thanks for sharing.
My favorite insulting words are on your lists – Vermin, Cretin, Foul, Odious, Plaguing. I see myself looking down my nose and really pulling together my eyebrows and saying these words with serious emphasis. I love it!!!! The creative use of words is awesome and powerful. When we stoop to curse words we are not being very creative at all.
If the classic taught us anything it's that the English language is amazing. We can use words we know in ways we never thought of.
Amazing! This blog looks exactly like my old one! It's on a totally different subject but it has pretty much the same page layout and design. Superb choice of colors!
