The Week in Links 8/10/19: Toni Morrison, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Pokemon Sword And Shield

Welcome to the Week in Links, a roundup of the latest articles for fantasy, sci-fi and horror readers and writers.

Video games made headlines and not for a good reason. Some are blaming the mass-shootings on violent games despite studies showing this isn’t true. #VideogamesAreNotToBlame was trending for two days on Twitter. Then #videogamesaretoblame started trending but it was basically people making fun of those saying video games are to blame.

Is this nonsense something gamers are going to have to deal with until the end of time?

We lost the great Toni Morrison. I read Beloved in college. Freaked me out a little, which I think was the point. Authors of color still face some problems but I think we’d have way more barriers to entry if it wasn’t for writers like Toni Morrison.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark came out and it’s getting good reviews. I’m glad. I loved the book as a kid.
